What you should include in your hiking first aid kit.

Think in terms of the common hiking injuries. You’ll want the first aid kit to be small, so you’ll want to load it with only the items you need for those injuries.
Minor Cuts – band-aids, disinfectant
More Serious Cuts – gauze bandages, tape, small scissors (use clothing if a tourniquet is needed)
Blisters – moleskin (to reduce friction from rubbing)
Bug Bites – Benadryl
Sun Burn – sunscreen to avoid burn (don’t put anything on a burn)

Also reduce the likelihood of injuries by taking plenty of water, a hiking stick, shoes with good ankle support, and good non-rubbing socks (like Smart-wool). Take a cell phone to be able to call for help for serious injuries.
